Who broke the law? Julian or Shell Oil?

Yesterday, the Wikileaks cables revealed that the oil giant Shell broke the bribery act. Today, we read in the cables that the US drug-maker Pfizer coerced the Nigerian attorney general to drop a legal action over a drug trial for children with meningitis. So far, the authorities have arrested only two people for breaking the law—Julian Assange and a sixteen-year old hacker in Holland. And that brings me to a quote by Leo Tolstoy: “Laws are rules, made by people who govern by means of organized violence, for non-compliance with which the non-complier is subjected to blows, to loss of liberty, or even to being murdered.”
