Vivienne Westwood has created a T-shirt in support of Julian Assange.
The designer was pictured wearing the shirt during a recent visit to see the WikiLeaks founder at the Ecuadorian Embassy in London.
The “I’m Julian Assange” unisex T-shirt features a picture of Westwood on the front, and will be sold via the designer’s official website for £40. The activist took to her blog to promote the designs, writing: “T-shirts for Julian: you can show your support of a real hero by going to viviennewestwood.com. Donations to WikiLeaks have been blocked but 100% of T-shirt profits can help fund their work.”
Assange has been living at the Ecuadorian Embassy since June 2012, where he is seeking diplomatic asylum. The author-journalist has been subject to a European Arrest Warrant and is avoiding extradition to Sweden – where police are waiting to question him over a sexual assault investigation.
The “I’m Julian Assange” Vivienne Westwood T-shirt will go on sale Saturday, November 3.
