Expectations over Ecuador´s Decision About Assange

Quito, Aug 6 (Prensa Latina) Expectations over Ecuador´s decision about the asylum request presented by Julian Assange grow everyday when there are signs that the founder of Wikileaks will be accepted in this country.
The national government will make public its decision once the Olympic Games in London end, according to Foreign Minister Ricardo Patiño.
However, since Assange presented the asylum request in June 19, voices supporting his cause have raised given his concerns of being sent to the United States from Sweden and even condemned to death penalty.
Last week, Christine Assange visited Ecuador in an attempt to explain the consequences of her son being tried by a Great Jury, secretly created in the United States to prosecute him for espionage.
Christine Assange met Patiño expressing him her gratitude for the protection the Ecuadorian government is offering to her son while he remains in this country´s diplomatic mission in London awaiting to be accepted in Ecuador.
Assange´s mother also met President Rafael Correa and President of the National Assembly Fernando Cordero presenting them the conditions that worsen the situation of her son in case he is prosecuted in U.S. soil.
