October 6 – Rally for Assange and WikiLeaks: Don’t Shoot the Messenger

Rally for #Assange and #WikiLeaks: Don’t Shoot the Messenger

via Stop The War Coalition (@stopwarsyd)

Over two years ago WikiLeaks released the Afghan War Diary, an extraordinary compendium of over 91,000 reports covering the war in Afghanistan from 2004 to 2010.

Now, as we near the 11th anniversary of the war on October 7, both WikiLeaks and Julian Assange remain under attack for daring to reveal the truth about the bloodshed in Afghanistan as well as in other conflicts around the globe.

The Australian Government has completely abandoned Assange in deference to the US alliance and UK authorities are threatening to  disregard international law and prevent Assange from travelling to Ecuador.

We need WikiLeaks more than ever if we are to fully understand, and so act against, the continuing cycle of corruption, abuse of power and war mongering.

Join us to demand safe passage for Assange, an end to the witchhunt against WikiLeaks, and an end to the “war on terror”.
